This Is Why Most Content Creators FAIL To Make a Living Online
We have to talk about something serious.
If you’re a content creator and want to make a living out of your work, you need to create a system.
A system that allows you to turn your content into money in your bank account.
Here’s what happens with most people who want to make a living as a content creator:
They simply make content about stuff they enjoy talking about. Period.
And that’s nice.
But this alone won’t make it a business that pays your bills.
Look, I was struggling myself to effectively monetize my work. (Mostly using courses and online coaching programs.)
And it took me 4 years to make a full-time living out of it.
That’s why in this article,
I’m going to give you what I’ve learned the hard way in the last decade as a content creator.
Let me warn you:
Those principles are simple.
But you have to take them seriously.
As Charlie Munger says:
Take a simple idea and take it seriously.
– Charlie Munger
It all comes down to getting 4 Principles right.
I call it the “4P Formula”.
So here it is:
- Passion
- Problem
- Philosophy
- Publishing
First, Passion
First, pick something that you’re passionate about.
Something you really care about.
A few examples?
Fitness, gardening, or coding.
This is probably the easiest part of the framework.
Second, Problem
Now that you’ve got a topic that you want to talk about,
it’s time to find a problem that you can solve.
Creating content around urban gardening?
Find out what the biggest pain points of urban gardeners are.
Those problems have to be painful enough so that people are willing to pay for a solution.
Third, Philosophy
Internet is full of content.
And the only way to stand out is to establish yourself in the market with a unique Philosophy.
What is the big “why” behind what you do?
For example, I’ve had to take back surgery in my mid-twenties.
Why?
Because of working too much and sitting too long at my desk.
So that’s why today, I am forced to work less.
Ironically, I am making more today than 10 years ago.
I’ve understood (the hard way) and become a veteran of working smarter instead of harder.
This allows you to connect emotionally to your target audience and establish a genuine relationship.
Fourth, Publishing
Finally, you have to publish content regularly.
Publishing content will establish you as an authority in your space.
People will start contacting you and open their hearts talking about their core problems.
After that…
Building an online course or selling a 1 on 1 coaching is easy.
Forget about the latest TikTok hacks:
This the real work you have to start with.
And here you have it:
The 4P Formula laid out in a very simplistic way.
Now, You can choose to apply it or ignore it.
But every single content creator who’s successful in the long haul applies those principles (consciously or not).
As always, the devil is in the details.
- How to be sure that the niche you’ve picked is the right one?
- How to find your audience’s core problems?
- How to choose the right platform to create content on?
- And so on…
That’s why I’ve created a free online course called the “4P Formula”.
This course will help you navigate through those questions.
