Yes Obsidian is kinda ugly compared to other apps. But at one time or another you just have to find the right balance and avoiding "complicated maintenance". With all my respect, just reading about your workflow gave me headache. But this is a crucial step towards finding what works for you. As I say: there is no one size fits all solution.
